Our vision

Our goal is to significantly facilitate collaboration between companies or people in a technical environment by providing a web portal with 3D support.

In addition to that, we want to create the prerequisites for the realization of a digital twin by providing all the necessary data for the operation and maintenance of a machine, a facility, or a building.

We do this by providing the required information based on 2D/3D documents on the one hand and, on the other hand, enabling communication between users that takes place in a controlled environment in the form of working groups.

The focus hereby is on making the software easy to use and on protecting the data and the communication against unauthorized access, as well as ensuring the user is as independent as possible.

Collaborate efficiently with Poi3D.

With Poi3D you can upload 3D models from CAD formats and share them with other users.
As no additional software needs to be installed, users can access the 3D models directly in their web browser.
Standard CAD formats such as Step®, 3DXML® and JT® as well as direct export, e.g. from Autodesk® Revit®, are supported.
In addition, 3D meshes can be imported in OBJ, STL, 3DS, GLB and GLTF formats.

You can also upload 2D documents and share them with other users. 
The formats 2D PDF, Multipage Tif and all common image formats are currently supported.

Poi3D.com enables communication between users within a workgroup through an integrated chat function, the ability to send emails to members of the workgroup via the portal and an integrated video conference with the ability to share screen content from both conversation partners synchronously.

Push notifications also make it possible to react immediately and automatically to changes made by other users in the workgroup.

AI-Integration

In Poi3D, multiple AI chatbots can be configured and integrated into the Poi3D chat. It is also possible to use different language models from various providers. This allows AI bots to be integrated into discussions between human users, for example, or the responses of different bots to be compared. In addition to web-based chatbots, such as those from OpenAI®, locally deployed language models enriched with company-specific information can also be integrated.

Create parts lists with Poi3D and send them to external systems.

The structure of these BOM’s can be changed and re-sorted by assigning position numbers.
Attributes of the individual items can be imported from the 3D model or created newly.
The BOM’s can be exported, for example, in the form of an HTML or PDF file.
In addition to that an export of the BOM’s to external ERP or PLM systems is supported.

This eliminates the need for a PLM/ERP system manufacturer to export construction parts lists directly from the CAD system.
In addition, external users without their own ERP/PLM client can be integrated.

The advantage for the user is that the design engineers are relieved of the tasks of creating BOM’s.

Poi3d.com supports the creation of a digital twin on the web by providing the 3D model including the assembly structure with visualization in the structure tree, assignment of metadata at component level, attached assembly instructions, material assignments, BOM’s and simulations, additional files that are uploaded and assigned to the main document, and a visualization of sensor values in the 3D model and in the 2D document.

Product catalogs

Poi3D catalogs are a collection of portal documents that are made available to users.
In addition to the specific portal document itself, these contain all attachments assigned to the document (additional files, material assignments, parts lists, etc.)
The internal catalog organizes documents into categories and makes them available to all portal users.
External catalogs publish the portal documents for global access.
A catalog viewer, that can be embedded in your own web pages, enables access to the information.

Windows Client

The Poi3D Windows Client is a Windows application that allows locally stored documents, whether in the form of 2D files or 3D models, to be supplemented with attachments.
For example, annotations can be added to PDF or image files, or sensor data, such as from home automation, can be displayed.
In the 3D domain, surfaces can be designed, instructions defined, and bill of materials created.
This information can be shared with other users worldwide via the Poi3D portal integration.

Security

The uploaded models are only available to the owner and members of the corresponding workgroups. Access to the models by unauthorized persons is prevented. Your know how is protected because only representations of the 3D models are used in the portal. The original data stays in your hands. The portal was developed with “privacy by design” in mind and does not use cookies. To register, the user only needs to provide the information required for operation.

Performance

Due to the small file size, the models are loaded very quickly despite of the high resolution and are displayed with a high level of detail.

Special performance optimizations also enable the handling of large models with several thousand components.

Simplicity

The software is very easy to use and intuitive for the user.
Collaboration with other users can therefore take place without special training.

Mobility

The portal is also designed for access with mobile devices. You can use the full range of functions on the go and, for example, include photos of the current location in the discussion.

Availability

There is no need to integrate or install expensive special applications. The functions are available ad hoc on almost any hardware without installation.

Independency

In addition to using our portal Poi3d.com, we provide individual installations as hosting. This allows the permitted users to be defined by the respective customer

It is also possible to operate the portal yourself. This means that the customer has complete control over the system and is completely independent.

Our offer

If you want to use Poi3D.com, we offer you the following options:

Hosting

We host the customer projects in a German data center.

In addition to the option of running Poi3D in your own IT environment, we also offer the service of adapting the application to a local server in the respective country.

Additionally, the portal can be downloaded from https://mypoi3d.com and can be installed on your own web site.

It can be operated independently without restrictions and includes free usage for two users and one administrator.

Integration

The Poi3D Portal can be embedded in both Windows and web applications, significantly extending the functionality of these by providing Poi3D functionality within the application.
